South Asian Fest in the Park

About

An afternoon of music, food, and fun for the whole family in an outdoor festival that showcases the music of South Asia.

Running since May 2012, the South Asian Fest in the Park is an annual even that aims to showcase South Asian culture through an outdoor celebration for families.

People of all ages; from young adults to seniors can attend the festival and have a great time!

Located in the Sheridan College grounds in Brampton, there is open space all around the festival area. This creates a great feeling of openness, letting everyone feel the fresh Caandian air, while listening to music from back home. It truly creates a bridge between these two worlds, allowing immigrants too stay in touch with their roots as they establish a new life in Canada.

The main focus of the festival is, of course, music! With an open air stage and live band, festival-goers can experience their favourite artist’s music in a unique concert setting.

The South Asian Fest In The Park upholds CMHC’s goal of giving back to the arts and culture of our Canadian communities by showcasing local artists through this festival. They get the chance to share their music with audiences, get noticed, and potentially get the big break they’ve been dreaming of!

But of course, no festival is complete without it’s headliners, and the South Asian Fest In The Park gathers some of the best talent from South Asia to entertain our audiences. Sherry Mann, Deep Jandu, Karan Aujla and Nimirt Khaira are just a few of the stars who’ve performed on our stage!

The festival activities has activities for everyone so that every participant is engaged and having a good time! Kids can run around and play in the fields surrounding the festival area, or visit one of our sponsor’s booths to collect free goodies.

These booths allow our major sponsors to reach out to the community,by handing out merchandise, hosting unique events, and giving festival-goers the chance to enter exciting contests!

While experiencing all the festival has to offer one is sure to work up an appetite, and they can satisfy their cravings by pricking up some savoury South Asian snacks from one of our on-site food trucks!
